On August 23, 2025, the Dragons were crowned champions after a fierce ball hockey game against the Cyclones at the BHi Brantford 2 venue. Tagged as the ‘Championship Game’, the action was intense from the starting whistle.
In an impressive display of teamwork, the Dragons notched both of their goals in the final two periods. The first goal came early in the second period, with Zendaya Lynn, the Dragons’ fiery forward, putting the puck in the net unassisted.
The Cyclones gave the Dragons a tough fight, but the Dragons defense held fast. Despite facing 11 shots, they kept their goal clear, showing their mettle when it mattered the most.
In the third period, Carter Gilchrist from the Dragons scored the second goal, assisted by Owen Christensen and Tyler Fazekas, securing their victory in this championship game.
Interestingly, the third period also saw some penalty box action with both teams serving two-minute penalties for ‘SLA’. Dragons’ player Tyler Fazekas and Cyclones’ player Emmett Parry were each penalised. The Dragons’ Kellis Montour was also penalised for ‘DOG’.
