Tigers Roar Past Huskies in Thrilling Shootout Victory!

On a sunny Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Tigers and the Huskies took to the field at BHi Brantford 2, for one of the most thrilling games of the season. This semi-final clash had everyone on the edge of their seats from start to finish!

The Tigers struck first, with Logan Barkman leading the charge, netting the first goal just nine minutes and thirty-three seconds into the first period. Not long after, Carter Lesemann, assisted by Barkman, scored another for the Tigers. The Huskies, however, were not going to be silenced that easily. Weston Gifford-Deane and Jayda Hammer countered with goals of their own, leaving the first period at a tie.

In the second period, Barkman and Lesemann once again tore through the Huskies’ defense, each scoring a goal. Caleb Predojevic, assisted by Rose Crnolic and Ryder Strachan, and then once more with an assist from Mason Plante, pulled the Huskies back into the game. The period ended on a high note with a flurry of goals from both sides.

The final period was an intense back and forth with incredible saves and precision shots. The Tigers’ Carter Lesemann, assisted by Barkman, started off the period with a goal. However, the Huskies retaliated with goals from Ryder Strachan and Jayda Hammer, making the game a nail-biter.

With the score level, the match was pushed to a shootout. In an impressive display of skill and composure, Remington Balkwill of the Tigers scored the decisive goal, leading the Tigers to a thrilling victory.

A notable mention goes to the referees, Machaela Mathurin and Brian Poor, for their excellent control of the game, and to timekeeper Leyton Johnston for maintaining the game’s flow. Despite a couple of penalties from the Tigers’ Elijah Mathura and Jeffrey Sandy-Burnham, the game was played in great spirits.
