On a sunny afternoon of August 18, 2025, at BHi Brantford 2, the Stingrays and Vipers turned up the heat in an enthralling face-off.
The Stingrays started the game with a bang, hitting the back of the net three times in the first period. Keaton Bradish, assisted by Noah Parry, opened the scoring, followed by a quick-fire double from Matthew Thompson, with Masen Buscombe assisting on one of them.
The Vipers refused to be rattled, stinging back in the second period. Harry Rossi, assisted by Samson Kisac, and Kisac himself, set up by Oliver Ruiss, scored to narrow the Stingray’s lead. Meanwhile, the second period also witnessed some disciplined action as Liam Torelli from the Stingrays spent two minutes in the penalty box for a hooking infraction.
The final period saw the Stingrays’ Eva Vaillancourt, later penalized for slashing, seal the game with a decisive goal.
Ultimately, the Stingrays came out on top, but the Vipers certainly made them work for it. The game was a testament to the spirit and skill of both teams who played their hearts out in an exciting contest. This round-robin duel was a feast for the fans, until the very last buzzer.
