The game opened with fast-paced action that had the spectators on the edge of their seats.

‘Even Strength’ goals were scored back and forth, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Joe Scharbach of The Smoke confidently opened the scoreboard, supported by assists from Chris Hooker and Jacob Deane. The Phatletes responded quickly with David Locke netting an unassisted goal.

The second period was no less thrilling.

Goals from The Smoke’s Greg Prangley and Joe Scharbach, and Phatletes’ Sunny Buttar kept the score board ticking. The assists for these goals came from Tyson Hearn and Ryan Crabb for The Smoke and David Locke and Justen Pettipas for the Phatletes.

In the final period, Justen Pettipas scored for the Phatletes, but it was Ryan Crabb’s goal that took The Smoke across the finish line. Tensions ran high as penalties were given out, but the players held their ground, displaying admirable sportsmanship.
