The ball hockey game held at BHi Brantford 2 on May 23, 2025, was not your average match! The Pigeons faced off against the Hornets in a dramatic showdown that ended in an unexpected twist. The game, which was meant to be a gripping face-off as part of the round-robin series, took a sudden turn when the Hornets had to forfeit, handing victory to the Pigeons.

The game was expected to be an exciting match, with both teams preparing to give it their all. The referees for the night, Dieter Van Linn and Dave Dean, took their positions, all set to officiate the anticipated thrilling game. As the game’s status turned ‘Final,’ it was the Pigeons who were declared the winners, with the game ending in a forfeit by the Hornets.

Even though there wasn’t a typical conclusion to the game, the Pigeons showed great sportsmanship, accepting their win with grace. Although the game didn’t progress as anticipated, it certainly provided a memorable evening. The game was not without its highlights, though.

Amid the unexpected conclusion, the Pigeons were credited with five goals, all scored by the ‘Default Player.’ Each goal was marked as a forfeit, proving that even in surprising circumstances, the spirit of the game lives on. While the Hornets may have left the court early, they will surely come back stronger in their next game.
